We are looking for the curling superstars from Graz!

Curling is a traditional sport from the 16th century. In many countries of the world curling has already established itself as a popular national sport, in Austria this sport is still in its “infancy”, so to speak. Seven clubs are currently registered with the Austrian Association, in Styria or Graz and generally in the south of Austria there is still no curling club. That could be through “Let's Go Curling!” change.

Attention, new dates!

From January 14th to 16th, 2022 Anyone interested in curling can get to know and try out this sport under the guidance of experts from the Austrian Association! It's that easy: Just send an email with the password “Curling” to register [email protected] and, ideally, announce the desired day right away - we will then contact you with further information! As there is only a limited number of places available, these will be raffled among all entries!

A curling team consists of four people each. B. are eight people, you can compete against each other. Allow about 2,5 hours for the trial training.

“I hope that as many as possible who enthusiastically watch this sport on television at the Olympics will come to the Winter World and try it out for themselves. It would be great if Graz could set up its own curling club and we could find something like a couple of curling superstars. What is possible in Vienna, Linz, Steyr, Traun, Kitzbühel or St. Margarethen an der Sierning should also be possible with us. "

Sports Councilor Kurt Hohensinner

“Every action that promotes curling in Austria helps us a lot, because we want to motivate more and more people to practice this fascinating, but quite complex sport. We are of course also happy about every additional club, especially in the south of Austria we have been wishing for a new curling club for a long time. Graz is a student city and curling is a popular sport, especially among students - so I very much hope that the initiative will create a new impetus in the sporting year. "

Philipp Eichinger, Vice President of the Öst. Curling Association
