The FIBA ​​3 × 3 Olympic Qualifier 2021 will take place in Graz. From May 26th to 30th, the best 3 × 3 basketball players in the world will compete for direct qualification for the 2021 Games in Tokyo, where 3 × 3 will celebrate its Olympic premiere. As the organizer of the tournament, Austria is set for women and men. 20 nations of each gender are fighting for a total of six Olympic tickets in a mega-stadium for 2.000 fans in front of the beautiful town hall.

From May 27th to 30th, the “Styrian International”, a world ranking tournament in the “Future Series” category, will take place in the Raiffeisen Sportpark in Graz.

14 locations, 300 competitions and up to 3.500 athletes: The first edition of the Sport Austria Finals will be a superlative sports festival, at which 28 red-white-red sports associations will determine their national champions from June 3 to 6, 2021 in Graz!

From the Mur in Graz to the Dachstein!

The interaction between athletes and personal supervisors is a very important part of the Austria eXtreme Triathlon. There is a kind of togetherness here that hardly exists in the triathlon scene. Both will be emotionally captivated from start to finish and will go to the limit on this day. A route awaits that couldn't be more beautiful and spectacular, but still provides enough safety in emergencies.

In memory of the Styrian coaching legend

Horst Mandl, the Styrian athletics legend and Olympic participant from 14, died on July 2018th, 1968. Three years later, almost on the day of his death, the “Horst Mandl Memorial” will take place in the ASKÖ stadium in Graz-Eggenberg.

Graz is getting its first Iroman competition! On August 15, the Ironman 70.3 will take place at Schwarzl-See and in Graz or in the Graz area. The swimming competition takes place at Schwarzl-See (transition zone 1), the bike route leads with its almost 90 kilometers and 50 meters of ascent to Weitendorf near Wildon, Premstätten, on to Lieboch in the Liebochtal, via St. Oswald near Plankenwarth to Gratwein, and over the B67 to Deutschfeistritz and Weinitzen. Finally to Graz Nord and via Grabenstrasse to transition zone 2. This is on the Passamtswiese in Graz, where the subsequent half marathon follows.

Austria is the scene of a Racketlon World Championship: the 18th World Championship of the world association will take place from August 20 to 29 in Vienna and Graz. In Vienna, the youth and the seniors will fight for medals (August 20-23), in Graz the men and women will determine their world champions in the general class: from August 25th to 29th in the Racket Sport Center.

An international premiere will take place in Graz from 18 to 21 August: For the first time, the Special Olympics will be crowned world champions in dance sport! Around 100 athletes from 15 nations and five continents will delight the audience on the casemate stages in Graz.

The E-Grazathlon is a tough obstacle course over 10 kilometers through the city center of Graz. The toughest sightseeing tour in the world awaits the participants under the motto “Beat the City”. The route leads past the most beautiful places in the city. You have to fight your way through exciting street crossings, seemingly endless stairs to mud containers. You can expect at least 20 obstacles with classics such as Monkeyland, Hupf in Gatsch, Wall 4 plus Panier and many more!

The running fans can hardly wait any longer: In 2021 the Kleine Zeitung Graz Marathon should take place again as usual, after only having to run “separately” and digitally in 2020. The weekend from October 8th to 10th in Graz belongs to all running fans again.
